How We Started
This idea started with a daydream - how amazing would it be to get people together for a weekend focused on the amazing world of Brandon Sanderson? With that thought, we came together to start looking at logistics to see how we could make it a reality.

I grew up with reading as my favorite pastime; my parents told me that I learned to read before kindergarten. I am particularly drawn to fantasy books, finding both solace and excitement in escaping to another world where anything is possible. And Sanderson’s worlds seem to offer unlimited possibilities. I am a social worker by day (an avid reader by night) and I love the idea of getting people together to connect over something we all love.
Kendra
As a librarian, I have seen how books can bring people together and cause a lot of joy. My favorite Sanderson book is Tress of the Emerald Sea. I have experience in event planning and am thrilled to be part of this team!

I have always loved stories of every genre. They bring so much love for humanity and an understanding of people, cultures, and beliefs.
I was introduced to Sanderson through my husband and it is now something we share and enjoy together!
I am a stay at home mom with two wonderful kiddos and I enjoy watching my husband grow his community that centers on the Cosmere. I feel so lucky to start this endeavor with people that I love and to share it all with you.

Growing up, I wasn’t a fan of reading. As a small child, I’d throw temper tantrums and head to my reading lessons kicking and screaming. But everything changed when my mom sat me down and read Harry Potter to me. After that, I completely flipped my opinion on reading and fell in love with other series like Ranger’s Apprentice, Fablehaven, and Percy Jackson.
In high school I was introduced to The Way of Kings and quickly fell in love with Roshar. A few years later I discovered the wider Coseme, and eventually I started the Cosmere Junkie Instagram account to connect with strangers online who shared my love for these books. Bonding with people over the stories I love is one of my favorite things to do.
